A tract of land in the U.S. Government Survey System measuring 24 miles on each side of the square. Sometimes referred to as a “check.”


Quiet Title
Court action brought to remove record defects or possible claims of other parties named in the action.


Quit Claim Deed
A deed in which the grantor warrants nothing. It conveys only the grantor’s present interest in the real estate, if any. It is often used to correct technical defects in a title.
